Abstract

As a result of climate change, severe and more frequent weather extremes, such as hurricanes, floods, and wildfires have become more apparent in the past decade. Consequently, this has increased pressure on government officials to quickly achieve sustainable economic growth and satisfy climate objectives. Climate change and global warming have fuelled interest in environmentally friendly investments in recent times. Apart from the environmental consequences of global warming, one of the most serious causes for concern is the harmful impact of these changes on human health, which may reach deadly levels. Methodologically, this chapter adopted multiple approaches comprising critical review of existing literature-based search engines and databases notably, Google scholar, Scopus, and Science direct. This chapter investigates green financing of infrastructure projects in the construction industry. This chapter addresses the economic and environmental issues influencing the acceptance of green bonds in funding infrastructure projects in the construction industry.
