Abstract

This chapter determines the generation capacity expansion plan that is suitable and beneficial for effective power system operation. Generation capacity expansion planning (GCEP) plays a major role in power system operations and planning. GCEP aims to achieve the most economical and reliable generation expansion planning system to serve the forecast load demand in a certain time period [1].
