Abstract
Various waste sampling and quantification methods are described in detail together with their respective waste characterization methods. A number of waste handling/treatment techniques are also described including thermal and biological processes. The use of landfills in waste handling is also outlined. The chapter also includes useful worked-out problems together with practice problems.
