Abstract
A finite element model updating method for aerospace structures was proposed using wavelet data and genetic algorithm. The updating technique was compared to conventional technique that used frequency response functions (FRFs) employing results obtained from measurements taken on a beam. Genetic algorithm was used to optimize the cost functions between the measured and analytical data. It was found that the wavelet-updated model performed better than the FRF-updated model.
