Abstract

Around the world, there have been various pushes for cleaner energy usage. Several barriers have been identified by the government, the energy industry, and consumers as impeding the push's implementation and stifling investment in the area. This study uses a multi-criteria method to prioritise the identified barriers that impede solar P.V. with storage systems in an energy mix. The method is used to develop a decision matrix for barrier and investor objectives. Using five energy corporation objectives, this study looked at the impact of techno-economic and policy aspects on integrating solar P.V. and storage systems into an energy mix using a fuzzy-based VIKOR method. The current study used data from Lagos, Nigeria, to test the VIKOR performance. Incumbent viability was the most critical barrier, while Regulatory impediments were the least critical barrier to the integration. This study's findings will help improve energy corporation perspectives on the challenges of integrating solar P.V. and storage systems into an energy mix.
