Abstract

This chapter highlights how environmental legislation is developed and the principles underpinning its development. The environmental legislation in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is reviewed based on the regional grouping of the countries by geographical location. An in-depth analysis of the legislation is presented, as well as its ability to address issues of sustainability and the circular economy.
