Abstract
This study aimed to assess the emission levels of ELF electromagnetic fields emitted by powered-equipment in a manufacturing plant. The emission levels were assessed at a distance of 0.5 and 1 m away from the equipment when operated, using multi-meter EMF meter. ANOVA showered statistical non-significant differences when comparing emission values emitted by all the equipment. A statistical non-significant difference was also noted when comparing emissions at the same exposure distances. Though peak exposure values were noted, the exposure values were below the applicable ICNIRP guideline for occupational exposures. An adoption of health and safety programme is necessary to mitigate occupational health risks that could be caused by exposure to peak EMFs levels.
