Abstract

Development plays a crucial role in the survival and advancement of any nation. Therefore, it is important to invest in various sectors of the economy that actively contribute to national growth. Among these sectors, transportation is recognized for its positive impact on the economy and overall development. Governments worldwide face significant challenges in identifying and resolving transportation issues. The concept of sustainable transport promotes the use of diverse approaches, including technological advancements and other sustainable methods, to create smart cities. This chapter focuses on global transportation problems and the role of technology in achieving smart and sustainable cities.
