Abstract

Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) have multiple usable purposes in communication systems that may help to advance the smart city concept such as monitoring and managing the expansion of cities and traffic, emissions and pollution, structure evaluation, emergencies, and installing communication cables. These UAVs exploit key technologies to support uses suitable for smart cities applications such as transport of goods as a way of eradicating traffic jams and emission levels compared to conventional delivery equipment. Furthermore, UAVs can assist authorities in monitoring and, thereby, enhancing decision-making and resource allocation for sustainability, smart resource utilization, and quality of communication in smart cities. UAV communication systems and primary technologies for the successful implementation of communication via UAVs are discussed in this paper. It highlights how UAVs can meet some of the issues that arise in the establishment of communication in smart cities. Lastly, it highlights how possible UAVs will be in the future as well as the expected areas of future research.
