Effective High Schools— What Are the Common Characteristics?

Abstract

Provided here are descriptions of some of the most instruc tionally effective high schools in California. Although not all of the effectiveness factors that are described were found in all schools, the authors note, taken together, the eight effectiveness factors do characterize the group of effective schools as a whole.
