Abstract
The solar tower is a renewable energy power plant that has the potential to play an important role in meeting the increasing energy demand of today's world with lower pollution. However, a large proportion of heat is lost due to its current collector design that reduces the efficiency of such solar tower. An experimental investigation was, therefore, undertaken to investigate the effect of heat exchange height that may impact the performance of these solar towers. The study suggests that while the performance can be increased by increasing the heat exchange height, there appears to be a limit beyond which the performance gains are less significant.
