Abstract
This chapter builds the introductory chapter and editorial for the second edition of the International Handbook of Love:TransculturalTransculturaland Transdisciplinary Perspectives. It provides a brief theoretical overview on the state of the art in love research from different cultural, transcultural, and transdisciplinary perspectives. It further gives insight into the chapters presented in this handbook. Since the first edition of the International Handbook of Love became an overwhelming success, it is now published in its second edition as a Springer Major Reference Work (MRW), featuring a total of 84 chapters. Of these, 46 chapters have been revised and updated from the first edition, while 25 are entirely new contributions, and 13 remain original.
