Abstract

This chapter analyzes the problem associated with assigning customer load demands to the available power-generating units to ensure a reliable and secured system. This determines the generation schedule of the available generating units to meet the forecast load demand over a period of time at a lower production cost while considering the ramp-up and ramp-down rate and other necessary constraints.
