Abstract

In this paper, a modified square split ring resonator metamaterial absorber (MMA) for Terahertz frequency is proposed. The unit cell used in the proposed structure is designed on the FR-4 substrate which is discontinued by the metallic ground. The proposed MMA exhibits perfect absorption at 0.232 THz (97.6%), 0.868 THz (99.5%) and is polarization insensitive. The polarization insensitivity is calculated using polarization conversion ratio (PCR) and measured towards the angle of incidence. The normalized impedance, permeability, permittivity has been studied. These studies are performed to understand the mechanism of the dual band absorber.
