title = "Distributed filtering with measurement size reduction and filter gain variations",
abstract = "We have mentioned two practical problems, i.e., energy constraint and filter gain variations are commonly encountered in WSNs. In this chapter, the distributed filtering for a class of discrete-time systems in sensor networks with these two problems is discussed in a unified framework. The strategies of reducing the packet size and the transmission rate are proposed to save sensor{\textquoteright}s power. Firstly, the local measurement size is reduced by using an effective measurement selection protocol, and then the selected measurement is transmitted stochastically to its neighboring sensors.",
