Abstract

Interest in nanocellulose materials has been increasing exponentially. These materials have been used as green reinforcing materials due to attractive attributes such as a high aspect ratio, a large surface area, and excellent mechanical properties. With tunable surface chemistry, different functionalities have been introduced, and easy synthesis of the nanoparticles on the surface of nanocellulose affords the production of advanced materials for various applications. In this chapter, nanocellulose-based materials and composites are reviewed. The application of these materials and their future trends are also described.
