Abstract

The images obtained through biomedical instruments are not always satisfactory. They are often blurred or vague. Doctors or researchers undergo a lot of problems because of these artefacts. Our research concentrated on image processing system which enhance these biomedical images. Dark channel used for this purpose followed by transmission maps which are calculated for every image. The radiance in the image is recovered and soft matting is used. Satisfactory results were obtained which showed clearer biomedical images. Further SSIM values and correlation factor are calculated to compare the results. The results were tested for ultrasound and microscopic medical images.
