Abstract
The treatment of Cp#NiX(PPh3) (Cp# = C5H5 (Cp), C5H4Me, (Cp′); X = Cl, Br, I) with benzenethiol or benzeneselenol, in the presence of Et3N, gave Cp#Ni- (EPh)(PPh3) (E = S, Se). The complex CpNi(SePh)- (PPh3) can also be prepared from in situ generated [CpNi(μ-SePh)]2 and PPh3. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with the following cell parameters: a = 9.610(1) Å, b = 11.480(2) Å, c = 11.536- (2) Å, α = 79.74(2)°, β = 73.98(1)°, γ= 83.45(1)°, V = 1201Å3, and Z = 2. The final least-squares refinement gave R = 0.0339 and Rw = 0.0356 for 4497 reflections.
