Abstract
To suspend the rotor of a magnetic bearing a positional control system is required. A suitable compensator is developed by the state-variable feedback technique. The resulting compensator design is verified by simulation of the non-linear system. The compensator was also tested on the physical system and the system functioned well with the aid of the compensator.
