Abstract
Kermesite, Sb2S2O, an antimony oxysulfide, is a relatively common mineral worldwide, with Mindat.org (accessed February 2020) listing 202 known localities. Numerous deposits contain kermesite, but few have produced noteworthy specimens. Those that have are described here. For many years the Globe and Phoenix mine in the Kwekwe district of Zimbabwe held the honors for producing the finest known specimens, both in size and quality.
