Abstract
Food insecurity remains a pervasive challenge in rural Zimbabwe, with a significant portion of the population struggling to access sufficient and nutritious food. The study sought to analyse the food insecurity coping strategies among community members in Ward 10, Mudzi District, Zimbabwe. The researchers used an African Centred Research Methodology. Data was collected from a purposive sample of 10 participants. Advanced manual analysis was used to analyse the data. It was evident from the study that planting drought resistant crops, community gardens, finding piece jobs, selling of valuable assets, and borrowing money and food are the coping strategies employed by community members in rural Zimbabwe. The food insecurity coping strategies employed by community members in rural Zimbabwe demonstrate the resilience and resourcefulness of the communities in the face of food insecurity and highlight the need for continued support and intervention to enhance food security in these rural regions.
