Abstract
This chapter discusses the potential of circular economy practices for resource recovery from industrial wastewater. Circular economy practices can help industries reduce their water consumption, decrease wastewater generation, and recover valuable resources from wastewater. The chapter provides an overview of circular economy practices for resource recovery from industrial wastewater, including biological and physicochemical treatment technologies. The chapter also discusses the potential benefits and challenges of implementing circular economy practices for resource recovery from industrial wastewater, such as reduced water and energy costs, increased revenue from recovered resources, and regulatory and technical barriers. The chapter highlights case studies and examples from various industries that have successfully implemented circular economy practices for resource recovery from wastewater, demonstrating the economic and environmental benefits of these practices. Finally, the chapter concludes by emphasizing the need for collaboration between industries, policymakers, and stakeholders to promote the adoption of circular economy practices for resource recovery from industrial wastewater.
