Abstract

Intrusive pressure measurements are not possible for reusable vehicles due to high heating during reentry. Flush Air Data system (FADS) is used to obtain flight parameters for a winged body reusable launch vehicle. The measurements made on the surface are used to derive flight parameters using a mathematical model. Model is calibrated with CFD or Wind tunnel generated data. In this paper CFD is used to generate Cp data for the calibration of the FADS algorithm in low speeds. The effect of various angle of attack and side slip angle on the surface pressure is captured and its trends are brought out.
