Abstract

Surviving in our current volatile world requires companies to be environmentally wise and proactive in order to remain sustainable. Organisations need to develop agility performance, competitive advantage in addition to profitability performance. Findings showed that achieving profitability performance relies on the company's ability to identify business enablers such as Information Technology (IT) systems, business process reengineering (BPR) and people and to define key performance indicators based on them. Business enablers are the building blocks of productivity that lead to customer as well as stakeholder's satisfaction. As opposed to the observations, IT systems cannot be the only enablers for business performance but in addition to BPR and people. However, business future direction is linked to digital disruption by means of technology change though use of cloud computing for agility as well as cyber security purposes.
