Abstract

In the molecule of the title compound, SePPh₂Bz (Bz = benzyl, CH₂C₆H₅) or C₁₉H₁₇PSe, the Se atom and the three aryl groups adopt a distorted tetrahedral arrangement about the P atom. The effective cone angle was calculated to be 167°.
