Abstract

The heritage of King Shaka has become a symbol for open trade and investments in different sectors in South Africa. The present king, the African National Congress, and IFP are making efforts to utilize King Shaka's image for their and the country's benefit. The impressive new International Airport in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is being named after the king. The airport would be a catalyst for transformation in the region. International flights would bring tourists from all over the world, setting the platform for foreign investment. Goods would leave in large cargo planes and the area around the airport would cascade with trade and industry, and this would be coordinated by the Dube Tradeport (DTP).
