Abstract
The sport development discourse reflects on the construction of a social process of change that is emerging, contested and challenged. Not only are academics faced with the challenge of developing a body of knowledge as evidence base for a wide variety of programmes, but the needs and foci of role players requiring monitoring and evaluation results are equally diverse.
