Abstract

The technique of spectral shaping and the design of codes providing nulls at certain frequencies, as the case with spectral null codes, have enhanced digital signaling over communication channels like for digital mass recorders and metallic cables. The special structure of these codes help in investigating and analyzing certain of their properties. The possibility of links between these codes and other error correcting codes are also presented and discussed. Interesting results have shown a special structure of spectral null codes and their link to Low density parity check error correcting codes.
