Abstract

In this article, we are presenting an innovative design of cross patch antenna on the substrate with ground plane partially removed. The antenna is fed by a microstrip line and yields an omnidirectional pattern. Two antennas with different dimensions are presented. Optimization of design leads to a bandwidth of 28% with sufficient directivity. The proposed antennas can be used for wideband communication applications.
