Abstract

A short, stereocontrolled synthesis of a key intermediate in the synthesis of thromboxane B₂ is described. The approach is based on the use of N, N-diethyl(phenylsulfonyl)acetamide as nucleophile in a palladium-catalysed nucleophilic substitution reaction.
