Prof Eesa Fredericks has been reappointed to the Governing Council: International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), for the 2024–2028 term. Prof Fredericks holds the distinguished position as the sole elected African member of the Governing Council. The UNIDROIT is an independent intergovernmental organisation that aims to harmonise and coordinate private international law across different jurisdictions. Its work contributes to the development of a more unified and predictable legal framework for international commercial transactions.
